It was another weekend at work with time to spare – so this time it was off to the Science Museum.

If I’m going to make the 100 odd mile round trip to London to work at the weekend, I might as well make it worthwhile. I hadn’t been to the Science Museum since the 1970′s and it’s gone through some changes. On my previous visit I had my first ever encounter with a computer – It played the animal game. (there is a modern day web version here). Thirty odd years on – I’m working in IT!
I spent three hours there – you could easily spend the whole day – it is a fantastic place to visit.
I have a one complaint – there where a number of areas closed off for various reasons. This is to be expected, however this resulted in a lot of dead ends – after climbing a staircase of two floors, you discover you can’t get access to a floor through that particular entrance because it goes through a closed exhibit! There was a lot of backtracking trying to find a route to where you wanted to go. This could have been solved with better signage.
Still to visit on my weekend work list:
- Natural History Museum
- Geology Museum
- British Museum
- Tower of London
- Victoria and Albert Museum
- Tate Britain
- Tate Modern
- London Eye
