First – Holywell Bay, walking behind the enormous sand dunes and along the coastal path to Porth Joke.Along the way, met a few sheep and was checked out by an army helicopter.And finally visited the Tolgus Tin Mill – a gem hidden in a tacky theme “Holiday Retail Village” – “Cornish Gold and Treasure Park”. An unexpected end to the Mill tour, was the 3D mine film – very high quality and a bargain as it is included in the ??2 entrance fee.

Oh No! More Beach.

Spent the whole day on the beach at Porthtowan. The sky over the beach was cloudless the whole time, but further inland was a different picture.

Adder nice day

Another sunny day but no beach today. Headed off to Bedruthan Steps, just north of Newquay.Had a nice walk along the coastal path to Park Head and met an adder and some cows on the way.After an outstanding Cornish cream tea – headed to Trerice, a National Trust House and Garden.

Out with the old….

Time to leave the base for the first week, and travel to North Cornwall for the second week of the holiday.After the caravan in the Lizard Peninsular, the second week’s accommodation is a cottage in St Agnes. It’s set up on the cliffs, a few hundred metres from the sea and has a large, secluded garden.The trip between the two bases was broken up with a visit to Trevarno Gardens.
