Visited Lake Windermere today and took a cruise between Bowness and Ambleside.
Bowness is a pleasant lake side town with plenty of shops and restaurants, Ambleside has less to offer and is about 1 mile from the Lake
After cruising back to Bowness, I moved on to Grizedale forest, whch is more or less on the route home.
There are many well marked, and thought out, paths through the forest – I took the shortest one today as it was getting late – this route is interspersed with many sculptures to make it more interesting.
