First stop of the day – Kidwelly Castle – apparently I visited it as a child but It’s too long ago for me to remember.
After Kidwelly, I made a return visit to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales.
I last visited 6 years ago and it has matured somewhat since then – It has the potential to be a Welsh version of the Eden Project, albeit a scaled down version – but there is still a lot to be done and it lacks that “wow” factor. Still, a pleasant place to sped an hour or two.
I ended the day a Llansteffan Castle. Perched atop a high hill, there is a steep climb up to the castle, but once again you are rewarded with stunning views.
Also, because of it’s remote location – you get it all to yourself – even the caretakers, Cadw, aren’t there collecting entrance fees – it’s free
