Drove to the top of the Great Orme and took the Tram back down into Llandudno.
They call Eastbourne God’s Waiting Room – well Llandudno is where the old folk go to Holiday – I’ve never seen so many walking sticks. Unfortunately whilst Llandudno is a lovely town – much of it is geared up for cheap holiday makers – most of the restaurants advertise how cheap their food is rather than how good it is. It was a real struggle to find anything more imaginative that fish and chips or burgers – given it’s coastal location I was expecting to find many places serving local produce.
After a walk around the town I took the tram back up to the top and enjoyed the views across the bay and to the Menai Straits. Finally I took a drive around the “Marine Drive” which runs around the perimeter of the Great Orme – It’s a toll road but it’s worth the £2.50 for the spectacular views.
