Apple BSOD in Leopard

I’m sure those apple developers though it was very funny – they gave any Windows machines on your network a nice icon with an innocent looking blue screen.

But another feature of Leopard is that you can view the icons up to a resolution of 512X512 and at this size the full detail is clear – Its a Windows 95 Blue Screen of Death. (Click it to see)However, they have slipped up – Apple’s own Airport Extreme base stations also display this icon if they don’t have a disk attached and given how flaky these devices are, a BSOD seems very appropriate.

Spotted on the London Underground

Saw this on the train yesterday – a parody of the Met’s recruitment posters.The words in the blue box include instructions to text stasi to a number for more information. (The real Met posters say “Make a Visible Difference”)

Site Update

The site’s been off-line for a few days whilst I upgraded the O/S on my Mac Mini, which hosts this site. �This was from Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) to 10.5 (Leopard). �I tried an in place upgrade first but I didn’t really think it would work as I had customised it quite a lot – it didn’t! Where has all the Daddies Sauce gone?

It’s been three months since I last saw it on the shelves! The brown variety is far superior to the other main brand and the red too, is much better than Heinz. So why can’t I buy it? I’ve tried all the supermarket chains (Not just the local ones – I was also on the lookout during my recent holiday).
