Getting Value from the National Trust

Nice cheap day

Start with a walk along the cliffs at Carnewas & Bedruthan Steps – National Trust

Next Lunch and a visit to Trerice – House and Gardens – National Trust.

The finished up on the Beach at Crantock, also National Trust.

A nice sunny day, but with an icy wind

Last Day – Back to Reality, via Portchester

So after what seems like months, it was time to head home and say goodbye to Crantock Beach.

The location couldn’t be better – it was great to be able to walk down to the beach – I’ll definitely be making a return visit.

Newquay & Crantock Beach

Took a trip into Newquay to replace the camera that gave up on me during my accent of the Coniston Old Man. I hadn’t planned to visit the town during my stay as whilst the beaches are great, it is a little too commercialised for my liking.

It wasn’t half as bad as I remembered it – I don’t know if the town’s had a face lift or it was just because it was a gloriously sunny day – but it was actually quite pleasant walking through the town. Like many towns it bears the massive scar of the abandoned Woolworth store.

Witney Court, the M5 and Crantock Beach

Set off from Coniston at 7 am for my second week’s holiday near Newquay in Cornwall. Stopped off at Witney on the way to break up the journey but couldn’t stay too long.

Then I queued for ages through the roadworks on the M5 finally arriving at my base for the week at Crantock Beach at 6 pm.
