After a stop in Hawkshead for some souvenir shopping I headed over to Bowness, via the Windermere car ferry.
Took the cruise to the southern tip of the lake before stopping off in Windermere for lunch.

 12th September 2008 at 5:04 pmLast day of the Holiday so I tried to fit in as much as possible without driving too far. First stop – Tarn Hows (again) – I didn’t have time for the full circuit on the last visit so this was a chance to put that right. There’s not much to say except it’s a very picturesque and easy walk- there are benches placed at each strategic view point. Then moved on to the next destination.
8th September 2008 at 5:04 pmVisited Lake Windermere today and took a cruise between Bowness and Ambleside.
Bowness is a pleasant lake side town with plenty of shops and restaurants, Ambleside has less to offer and is about 1 mile from the Lake |
