I visited this last year and was glad that my visit to Newquay this year, coincided with the festival.
Once again I was able to eat mackerel fillets that had been freshly smoked in a makeshift smoker built out of an old filing cabinet.

Took a trip into Newquay to replace the camera that gave up on me during my accent of the Coniston Old Man. I hadn’t planned to visit the town during my stay as whilst the beaches are great, it is a little too commercialised for my liking.
It wasn’t half as bad as I remembered it – I don’t know if the town’s had a face lift or it was just because it was a gloriously sunny day – but it was actually quite pleasant walking through the town. Like many towns it bears the massive scar of the abandoned Woolworth store.
