I usually drive to Tarn Hows and then walk around the lakes. Today, I walked there from Coniston.
It had stopped raining, but there was a lot of flooding, but this is an idea walk as much of it is through woodland. It’s a circular walk and it’s uphill all the way there, but downhill all the way back.
After a stop in Hawkshead for some souvenir shopping I headed over to Bowness, via the Windermere car ferry.
Took the cruise to the southern tip of the lake before stopping off in Windermere for lunch.

Last day of the Holiday so I tried to fit in as much as possible without driving too far.
First stop – Tarn Hows (again) – I didn’t have time for the full circuit on the last visit so this was a chance to put that right. There’s not much to say except it’s a very picturesque and easy walk- there are benches placed at each strategic view point. Then moved on to the next destination.
